Basketball Signature Moves 1: Olajuwon's Dream Shake

Hakeem Olajuwon is one of my favorite basketball player of all time. In my opinion, he has the most gorgeous post moves and one of them is the Dream Shake. The Dream Shake is a combination of several spin moves, fakes and counter moves. Once mastered, it is pretty much unguardable. Olajuwon said "The Dream Shake was actually one of my soccer moves which I translated to basketball. It would accomplish one of three things: one, to misdirect the opponent and make him go the opposite way; two, to freeze the opponent and leave him devastated in his tracks; three, to shake off the opponent and giving him no chance to contest the shot."

For those of you who want to learn about pivoting and footwork, this is the guy you want to learn from. The Dream Shake has so many different combinations. Here is step by step instruction on how to do 1 variation of the Dream Shake

  1. do a cross over
  2. drive to the basket
  3. fake a layup
  4. spin counterclockwise
  5. fake another layup
  6. performed an up-and-under move to score
